Recent Buy: SO

Starting the month right.

On Friday, May 6, 2016, I bought 21 shares of the Southern Company at $49.48 per share for a total of $1046.08. I am using the new offering to add on the weakness.

This moves my forward dividend to 3056.97. At 108 shares of SO, I won't add anymore unless there is a big spike in share prices...since SO now makes up 8% of my dividends.

Portfolio updated.

    1. well come on in desi. there's plenty of SO to go around! SO coal-nat gas is going on line in 2H. It should make electricity generation a lot cheaper allowing for an eps expansion!

  2. SO is a great company. A few months back I started a position when the shares were $46.73. I was hoping with the new offering that I could strengthen the position when the shares were closer to my cost basis. I guess I will have to wait and see!

I hope all has been going well for you!

    1. hi MD, i would love those prices. If SO drops that low I might have to add some more. My goal is to make SO into 300 shares. Hopefully a big drop will provide us both the opportunity

    2. During your accumulation of SO shares, have you been waiting on dips to buy more or are you waiting until the price drops below your cost basis?
